Acclimatization is crucial to avoid altitude sickness. Spend extra days at higher elevations to allow your body to adjust. Drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol, and consider taking Diamox to prevent altitude sickness.
Prepare with regular cardiovascular exercises like running, cycling, and hiking. Strength training, particularly for your legs and core, is also beneficial. Gradually increase your exercise intensity to simulate trek conditions.
Invest in high-quality trekking gear, including a down jacket, thermal layers, moisture-wicking clothing, sturdy trekking boots, and a warm sleeping bag. Don't forget essentials like gloves, a hat, and sunglasses.
Weather in the Everest region can be unpredictable. Be prepared for a range of conditions, from sunny days to snow and rain. The best trekking seasons are pre-monsoon (March to May) and post-monsoon (late September to November).
Ensure you have travel insurance that covers high-altitude trekking, medical emergencies, evacuation, and trip cancellations. Carry a copy of your insurance policy and emergency contact numbers.

Internet and phone connectivity are limited and expensive on the trek. Some tea houses offer Wi-Fi for a fee. Consider buying a local SIM card with data if you need to stay connected, but expect intermittent service.
The Everest region is rich in Sherpa culture and Buddhist traditions. Show respect by learning about local customs, dressing modestly, and asking permission before taking photos of people or religious sites. Always follow the guidance of your trek leader or guide.
Practice Leave No Trace principles. Carry reusable water bottles, avoid plastic waste, and dispose of trash responsibly. Respect the natural environment and wildlife by sticking to designated trails and not disturbing the flora and fauna.
